Military & Safety Protective Apparels

Flame-resistant protective apparel of NOMEX III A combines style and functionality with a professional appearance, enabling you to specify garments that look as good as they perform.

WIDE SELECTION. Garments of NOMEX III A are available in a wide range of colors and styles, including jackets, parkas, slacks, gloves, jeans, shirts, sweatshirts, military suits, coveralls and chemical splash suits. In addition, protective apparel of NOMEX III A is offered in a variety of fabric weights to suit any climate.

EASY CARE. Garments of NOMEX III A can be laundered using normal home or commercial laundering and dry cleaning techniques. The flame-resistance is permanent - it is part of the fiber itself, so it cannot be washed or worn out, even if the garment is mishandled. Because they are extremely durable, garments of NOMEX III A stand up well to repeated laundering and use. Fabrics of NOMEX II A exhibit minimal shrinkage (1 percent to 3 percent) and maintain their size and shape over the life of the garment. In fact, the garments of NOMEX III A come out of the dryer ready to wear and rarely need pressing.

EASY SOIL AND CONTAMINANT REMOVAL. The strong chemical resistance of NOMEX III A to many organic solvents makes it easy to remove greases, oily soil and other flammable contaminants from garments. Flammable contaminants can reduce the thermal protective performance of any garment, thus they should be removed as quickly and thoroughly as possible.

Light Transmittance

Communication

Microphone, earphones and hearing protection devices can be easily fitted to the mask. Due to the position and type of speech membrane, loud speaker use is easy and efficient.

Protection Against Conventional Weapons

The visor protects the eyes and the whole face against fragments, stones and splinters caused by explosions.
Can withstand with no damage (break or perforation) to the impact of a steel sphere 6.35mm calibre bullet hitting the mask at any point at the speed of more than 150m/sec
Blast effects do not impair protection performances as all membranes are able to withstand significant pressure
Speech diaphragm is the open type and does not use the old rigid metal membrane.

Heat Resistance

All parts are flame & heat-radiation resistant
Does not melt or catch fire when tested accordingly with the EN 136 specification and the German Fire-Brigade radiation test. (800 C temp. of flame for 5 seconds & 200 C temp. for 6 minutes)

Drinking Facilities

The SGE 400, 400/3 & 400/3 BB may be supplied with a drinking system.

Integral Face Piece

Firm transparent device providing ideal and maximum support of the mask (SGE 400)
Improved structure replaces the conventional rubber bodies used in traditional designs.
Bears the weight to which the mask is subjected, supporting teh head harness, valves, filters, regulators, etc.

Face-Seal

Lighter rubber face-seal allows a higher degree of comfort
Improved integral face-piece makes it possible for the rubber face-seal to be lighter allowing perfect sealing and comfort even during prolonged usage

Filter Fittings

Threaded fitting for application of standard filters (DIN 3183, UNI 7246)
Fitting is contained in a single unit which also comprises the exhalation valve
Internal ring nut is shaped to allow perfect ventilation of the whole face-piece, preventing misting even at low temperatures.

Membranes

Well-designed membranes made of top grade material increase resistance to chemical agents
Design of the exhalation membrane requires only minimum effort even at very high flow rates
The excellent memory of the membranes is due to a combination of effective design and the use quality materials.
The use of blends containing butyl rubbers instead of natural rubber increases resistance to chemical agents.

Exhalation Valve

Exhalation valve is fitted onto the same unit containing the filter fitting
Has an external structure which covers the whole membrane but still enables easy discharging of exhaled air
Covering structure keeps a sufficient volume of uncontaminated air in continuous contact with the membrane

Oral-Nasal Unit

Made of soft medical grade silicone rubber and designed specifically for use in contact with the human body for indefinite periods of time without causing irritation or allergic reactions
Shape is also designed to provide optimum comfort and efficiency

Fixing Rim and Strap

Connect straps to the frame of the mask while simultaneously fixing and locking the face-seal and the incorporated hood, if used
Once the rim is tightened in place by means of a special screw, it fits into a special seat in the frame of the mask
The pull exerted on the fixing points of the head harness is transferred and distributed evenly around the whole circumference of the mask, allowing perfect adjustment of its tightness for maximum comfort and optimum sealing on the face of the wearer

Cleaning and Decontamination

The mask design comprising two main parts, face shield and face seal makes decontamination and cleaning easier
Major parts of the mask which are made of plastic materials are not permeable to aggressive agents and are not penetrated by them in the least even after a very long exposure period
